In addition, the disclosed document management system comprises a policy selection and assessment unit (600) for acquiring operating information which is information for identifying the type of operation for the original document data or the replica data, user information which is information related to a user, and the document type information; selecting policy information in which the operating range of the user has been defined on the basis of the document type information; and assessing whether or not the user defined by the user information has authorization to execute an operation defined in the operating information in accordance with the definition of the selected policy information.
