PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium conveyance apparatus, an image forming apparatus and a medium conveyance method, capable of restraining floating of a medium, by eliminating strain when conveying the medium of a processing object.SOLUTION: A recording medium (14) of sandwiching a tip part by a gripper (80) is sucked and fixed to a peripheral surface of a plotting cylinder after being pressed to the peripheral surface of the plotting cylinder (44) by a paper presser roller (46). When the recording medium is sucked and fixed, sandwiching by the gripper is temporarily released, and the strain caused in the recording medium is eliminated. Afterwards, before a tip part of the recording medium enters a detecting area of a paper floating detecting sensor (126), the temporarily opened gripper starts to close, and the tip part of the recording medium is sandwiched again by the gripper until the tip of the recording medium slips out of the detecting area of the paper floating detecting sensor. |
