PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a wavelength conversion element in which an optical waveguide is formed on such a position that widths of a polarization-inverted area and a nonpolarization-inverted area of a periodical polarization-inverted structure are equal to each other.SOLUTION: The method of producing wavelength conversion element includes: an electrode forming process; a polarization inverted structure forming process; and an optical waveguide forming process. The electrode forming process is a process of forming a ladder-type electrode. The polarization inverted structure forming process is a process of applying a voltage between a ladder-type electrode formed on the principal surface of a ferroelectric crystal substrate and a metal electrode formed on the rear surface and forming a periodical polarization-inverted structure on the ferroelectric crystal substrate. Voltage application is completed before the width of the polarization-inverted area becomes equal to the width of the nonpolarization-inverted area at a center part P of a rectangular electrode 10D equidistant from a potential equalization electrode 10S. |
