The disclosed performance monitoring device detects a system configuration modification of the information processing system, and if the system configuration information of the information processing system after configuration modification has been stored, acquires a baseline associated with the configuration number attached to the system configuration after system configuration modification, and substitutes the baseline currently used in performance monitoring with the acquired baseline.
