PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately determine whether or not an input object having a round tip is in contact with a display surface or projection surface, in a coordinate input device having an operation detection surface at a position in front of the display surface or projection surface.SOLUTION: The coordinate input device includes a processing means for detecting the size of the input object that intercepts detection light progressing along the operation detection surface, a processing means for generating a down event for the input object when the size of the input object is detected to be larger than a first threshold after the initial interception of the detection light is detected, and a processing means for generating an up event for the input object when the size of the input object is detected to be smaller than a second threshold after the maximum value of size is detected. |
