PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a maintenance method for a multi-passage type rotary joint, which easily and properly performs maintenance such as replacement of seal rings made of elastic material regardless of a level of skill of a worker, without a problem such as degradation in function of mechanical seals.SOLUTION: In the multi-passage type rotary joint, a case body 1 is constituted to be separated into a tip case part 6 and a base end case part 5, and a plurality of mechanical seals 16 and a plurality of seal rings 23, 24 made of an elastic material are respectively disposed in parallel, among a rotational shaft body 2 which is pivotally supported 14a, 14b by both of the case parts 5, 6, the base end case part 5, and a tip case part 6. After the base end case part 5 is connected and fixed to the rotational shaft body 2 not to be relatively rotatable by a connecting and fixing fixture 40, the tip case part 6 is removed from the base end case part 5 to perform maintenance of the seal rings 23, 24 made of the elastic material. |
