PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traveling method and a travel device for a concrete pavement construction machine capable of smoothly traveling on a rail and a paved surface and accurately traveling a predetermined route.SOLUTION: The travel device includes a running wheel (5) rolling on the rail (R) or the road surface (the paved surface G); a pair of guide wheels (6) provided at both width direction ends of the running wheel (5); and a guide wheel moving device (60) moving the guide wheels (6) vertically between a position below the running wheel (5) (a position on both sides of the head Rf of the rail R) and a position above the running wheel (5) (a position not interfering with the road surface G).
