PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous coating material capable of forming a coating film that has excellent water resistance and simultaneously has flavor properties, adhesion, and processability when used as a coating material for cans, especially as a coating material for an inner surface of a can body.SOLUTION: The aqueous coating material includes a polymer obtained by copolymerizing an ethylenically unsaturated group-containing monomer (C) in the presence of a modified epoxy resin (A) and a basic compound (B). Preferably, the modified epoxy resin (A) is obtained by the reaction of a polymer (D), which is obtained by copolymerizing a carboxyl group-containing monomer and the ethylenically unsaturated group-containing monomer (C), with an epoxy resin (E) in the presence of the basic compound (B). |
