PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an energy absorbing member that reduces a peak load of a collision load and delays time between collision and the arrival of the peak load.SOLUTION: The energy absorbing member 1A is configured to have a plurality of cells 2 in parallel, and to enclose compressible fluid 3 in part of the cells 2. When the load is applied to the energy absorbing member 1A: the compressible fluid 3 is compressed to expand in a direction perpendicular to an input direction of the load, thereby the cell 2 is deformed and the peak load is sufficiently reduced; and the compressible fluid 3 is compressed, thereby the time between collision and the arrival of the peak load thus is delayed, compared to when incompressible fluid is used. |
