PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer printer which enables a used ink ribbon and a sponge roller to be replaced easily at the same time, and moreover enables an unused ink ribbon and the sponge roller to be simply obtained through the same distribution channel in the procurement work thereof.SOLUTION: An openable sponge roller holding mechanism is provided near an ink ribbon winding shaft of a ribbon cassette equipped with the ink ribbon and the ink ribbon winding shaft. The sponge roller holding mechanism brings the sponge roller into contact with the ink ribbon wound by the ink ribbon winding shaft in a closed state and enables the detachment of the ink ribbon winding shaft in an open state. |
