PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the deterioration of an intermediate transfer body compared with the case that the irradiation energy of ultraviolet rays irradiating a hardening solution layer to which an ink corresponding to an image is applied via the intermediate transfer body is constant regardless of an application amount of the ink.SOLUTION: An image recording apparatus 101 is provided with a UV-LED array 18 including a plurality of UV-LEDs for irradiating the hardening solution layer 12B with the ultraviolet rays via an intermediate transfer belt. The application amount of the ink is calculated for each of divided images obtained by dividing image data to correspond to irradiation areas of the plurality of UV-LEDs. According to the corresponding relation between the application amount of the ink and the irradiation energy of the ultraviolet rays, the irradiation energy of the ultraviolet rays corresponding to the calculated application amount of the ink is set for each divided image. Each of UV-LEDs is controlled so that the region to which the ink corresponding to divided image of the hardening solution layer is applied is irradiated with the ultraviolet rays of the irradiation energy set for each divided image. |
