PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a genetically modified microorganism more efficiently and for wider use.SOLUTION: In a method for producing a genetically modified microorganism including the use of a transformation method using a conjugative transfer from a donor microorganism to a recipient microorganism, the method uses a plasmid for genetic modification including: a base sequence region deficient in a target gene and its flanking base sequence in the recipient microorganism; a conjugative transfer initiation region functioning in the donor microorganism; a replication initiation region; a resistance gene to a chemical to which the recipient microorganism is sensitive; and a conditional lethal gene to the recipient microorganism.
