PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a state notification method, capable of reducing loads to be applied to a database server in a communication system which notifies a terminal of states of other terminals, and to provide the communication system.SOLUTION: A terminal 3A, which is one of a plurality of terminals 3, transmits presence information showing the state of the terminal 3A to the database server 1 via a connected relay server 2A (S16-S18). The database server 1, which receives the presence information of the terminal 3A includes notification destination information for specifying a notification destination terminal 3B, which is the terminal at a notification destination of the state, and relay information for specifying a relay server 2B, to which the notification destination terminal 3B is connected in one message to be transmitted to the relay server 2A which is one of a plurality of relay servers (S20). The relay server 2A, which receives the message outputs the presence information and the notification destination information of the terminal 3A to the relay server 2B to be specified by the relay information (S22). |
