PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To collect the date and time when a barcode of merchandise that has expired is read, to analyze the merchandise and a time zone that is apt to cause expiration, thereby reducing opportunity loss.SOLUTION: The merchandise management system includes: a store controller for managing overall sales of merchandise in a store; a data read means for reading data attached to merchandise; a merchandise information read means for reading merchandise information on the basis of the data read by the data read means; an expiration date determination means for comparing the expiration date stored in the merchandise information with the time read by the data read means and determining whether the expiration date has been exceeded; and an expiration storage means for storing the time read by the data read means when the expiration date determination means determines expiration. |
