摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic endoscope system, including an electronic endoscope to which only one imaging element is mounted, and achieving compatibility between fluorescent light photographing and narrow band light photographing while holding down the cost without any increase in diameter of an insert part.SOLUTION: A narrow band light/excitation light pumping source 52 generates blue light with a wavelength of 405 nm. The blue light functions as narrow band light in a narrow band light photographing mode, and serves as excitation light for generating intrinsic fluorescence light from a subject tissue in an intrinsic fluorescence light photographing mode. The imaging element 33 includes an excitation light cut filter provided on a G element for shielding excitation light, and used in common to the narrow band light photographing mode and the intrinsic fluorescence light photographing mode. A narrow band image generating part 47 extracts a B pixel component from an original image generated based on the imaging signal output from the imaging element 33 in the narrow band light photographing mode, and generates a narrow band image. An intrinsic fluorescence image generating part 48 extracts a G pixel component from the original image and generates an intrinsic fluorescence image in the intrinsic fluorescence light photographing mode.
