PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recording apparatus which prevents a recording medium from being cut incompletely when jamming or the like is generated and easily performs a maintenance processing, and to provide a method for controlling the image recording apparatus.SOLUTION: When an indication for stopping of a cutting part 8 is issued, to retreat a cutter blade of the cutting part 8 to a retreating position, a cutting controlling part 23 determines the rotational direction of a cut roller based on a stopping position of the cutter blade output from a cutter position information generating part 30. |
