PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for a breaker topping capable of improving a low fuel consumption performance, driving stability and durability in good balance and to provide a pneumatic tire using the composition.SOLUTION: The composition includes a rubber component, a carbon black, a specific silane coupling agent, a specific compound and/or its hydrate, and the content of the carbon black is 15-60 pts.mass and the total content of the compound and its hydrate is 0.15-1.8 pts.mass to 100 pts.mass rubber component. The rubber composition for the breaker topping contains preferably 2-50 pts.mass silica to 100 pts.mass rubber component. |
