PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical casting machine in which a pressure rod pressed-down by a pressure rod can be smoothly raised to an original position, in the vertical casting machine where a mold is moved from a mold clamping position to a mold opening/closing position.SOLUTION: The machine has a structure where the mold 4 reciprocates between a mold clamping apparatus 2 and a mold opening/closing apparatus 3 arranged side by side. The mold 4 includes: a pressure rod 40 pressed down to the lower part by a presser 22 provided at the mold clamping apparatus 2 and pressing molten metal; a plurality of return cylinders 43 arranged in parallel with the pressure rod 40 for returning the pressed-down pressure rod 40 to the upper part; and a connection member 44 connecting each piston rod 43a of a plurality of the return cylinders 43 with the pressure rod 40. |
