Disclosed is a pump configured to introduce liquid from an introduction path to a pump chamber through vanes, wherein a foreign substance prevention portion configured to prevent a foreign substance that has been mixed into the liquid from entering the pump chamber, is provided in the introduction path. The foreign substance prevention portion is provided with a grid which defines void spaces arranged in a direction intersecting with the flow direction of the liquid. The grid is formed so that the void spaces positioned on the center side of the introduction path are disposed on the upstream side of the introduction path with respect to the void spaces positioned on the peripheral side of the introduction path.
