PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display apparatus which prevents a significant reduction in aperture ratio (high transmittance) and prevents color shift or mixture dependent upon a viewing angle as well as reflection from wiring.SOLUTION: The image display apparatus includes an image display panel 11 configured by arranging, in a two-dimensional matrix, first sub-pixels R which include first color filters 31 transmitting light of a first primary color and display the first primary color, second sub-pixels G which include second color filters 32 transmitting light of a second primary color and display the second primary color, third sub-pixels B which include third color filters 33 transmitting light of a third primary color and display the third primary color, and fourth sub-pixels W for displaying a fourth color. A light shielding region is provided at at least a part of a peripheral edge of each of the fourth sub-pixels W. |
