PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary compressor reducing oil discharged from a refrigerant discharge pipe by regulating the positions of a discharge hole and the opening of the refrigerant discharge pipe to be predetermined positions.SOLUTION: This rotary compressor includes: a driving element 14 provided inside a sealed vessel 12; and a rotary compression element 18 located below the driving element 14 and driven by the rotary shaft 16 of the driving element. In the rotary compressor, the refrigerant discharge pipe 96 is inserted from the side surface of the sealed vessel 12 above the driving element 14 into the sealed vessel 12, and is opened toward a lateral side, and the refrigerant compressed by the rotary compression element 18 is discharged from the discharge hole 65 into the sealed vessel 12, and is subsequently discharged from the refrigerant discharge pipe 96 to the outside. The position of the discharge hole 65 is set to a position below an area A1 on the opposite side of the opening direction of the refrigerant discharge pipe 96 from a line L1 passing the opening surface 97 of the refrigerant discharge pipe 96 and perpendicular to the opening direction of the refrigerant discharge pipe 96. |
