METHOD FOR REPORTING DUAL MODE GPRS/WLAN OR UMTS/WLAN WTRU CAPABILITIES

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which enables a wireless terminal to communicate dual mode capabilities.SOLUTION: The method includes: generating a connection request message showing a request to be connected to a cellular core network and including a capability indicator (index) showing whether a WTRU (wireless transmit/receive unit) is capable of receiving a service from the cellular core network over a WLAN (wireless local area network); communicating the connection request message to a network node within the cellular core network; and receiving the service via the network node on the basis of the capability indicator.
