The invention relates generally to anti-inflammatory D3 peptides, fragments, analogs, and derivatives thereof and pharmaceutical compositions comprising such peptides, fragments and derivatives thereof. The inventors have discovered that D3 peptides, fragments, analogs, and derivatives thereof have anti-inflammatory potential, and describe methods of using such peptides for the treatment of diseases where inflammation plays a role. The invention also relates to therapeutic uses of D3 peptides, fragments, analogs, and derivatives thereof for the treatment of diabetes.
