PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup apparatus that obtains favorable images of various main subjects while preventing deterioration in image quality.SOLUTION: The image pickup apparatus includes: an image pickup means for imaging subjects to generate image data, an AF frame setting means for setting an AF frame for a part of the image data, an AF means for executing a focusing operation based on the set AF frame, a moving body detection frame setting means for setting a moving body detection frame to be used to detect a moving body in a part of the image data based on the set AF frame, a detection means for detecting whether the movement of the subject can be found in a part of the image data based on the set moving body detection frame, and a regulating means for regulating an exposure state of the image data to be imaged by the image pickup apparatus depending on the detected result of the detection means. |
