PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head holding mechanism of a card reader, improving a reading and recording accuracy of magnetic data by a magnetic head and simplifying a manufacturing process.SOLUTION: The magnetic head holding mechanism 1 is equipped with: a magnetic head 3, a head holding plate 4 for holding the magnetic head 3, and a first support part 5 and a second support part 6 for supporting the head holding plate 4. In the passing direction X of a card 2, the magnetic head 3, the second support part 6, and the first support part 5 are arranged in this order. The first support part 5 supports the head holding plate 4 to enable swinging of the magnetic head 3 where the passing direction X of the card 2 is an axial direction of a swing shaft, and the second support 6 supports the head holding plate 4 so as to set the tip 3a of the magnetic head 3 roughly parallel to a counter member 9 when not coming into sliding contact with the card 2. |
