PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a numerical control device of a machine tool capable of setting optimum spindle rotation velocity.SOLUTION: The numerical control device includes a data base for storing X-axis characteristic data and Y-axis characteristic data measuring each of dynamic compliances of a X-axis direction and a Y-axis direction mutually orthogonal to a spindle head for rotatably supporting a spindle with a frequency having a proportional relationship with the rotation velocity of the spindle as a parameter, a storage means for storing a changeable range of a command rotation velocity of the spindle designated in a machining program, and a rotation velocity detection means for calculating a rotation velocity range determined from the command rotation velocity and the changeable range and detecting the spindle rotation velocity that an absolute value of a difference between the X-axis compliance and the Y-axis compliance becomes minimum in the rotation velocity range based on the X-axis characteristic data and the Y-axis characteristic data. The optimum spindle rotation velocity for minimizing a difference between the X-axis compliance and the Y-axis compliance of the spindle head is set in the rotation velocity range. |
