PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refractory steel in which the contents of alloy elements Mo, Cu, Cr and Nb increasing high temperature strength are limited, and which has sufficient refractory performance and low temperature toughness, i.e., a refractory steel which has excellent reheat embrittlement resistance and low temperature toughness, and a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: The refractory steel having excellent reheat embrittlement resistance and low temperature toughness has a composition comprising, by mass, >0.01 to 0.050% C, 0.01 to 0.50% Si, 0.50 to 2.00% Mn, 0.05 to <0.20% Mo, 0.0003 to 0.0030 B, 0.0010 to 0.0100 N, 0.005 to 0.030% Ti and 0.002 to 0.100% Al, and in which the content of Nb is limited to <0.003%, and further, the respective contents of P, S and O are limited to <0.0200% P, <0.0100% S and <0.0100% O, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities. |
