Provided is a plasma sterilization device which can continue generating plasma regardless of the presence or absence of disposition of an object to be sterilized and has the high sterilization capability of inactivating the toxicity of the object to be sterilized. Specifically provided is a plasma sterilization device which comprises a housing container (1) for housing an object to be sterilized (100), an electrode (2) installed inside or outside the housing container (1), a gas supply means (4) for supplying gas into the housing container, and a high frequency supply means (3) for supplying a high-frequency current to the electrode, and performs sterilization treatment on the object to be sterilized by supplying the high-frequency current to the electrode to convert the gas in the housing container into plasma. Said plasma sterilization device is characterized in that the electrode (2) has an electrode portion configured from a pair of electric wires through which electric currents flow in opposite directions to each other in a local space, an aggregation of the electrode portions is disposed so as to surround a space occupied by the object to be sterilized (100), the directions of lines of magnetic force induced by the respective electrode portions are directions toward the space, and magnetic fields induced by the respective electrode portions are present while overlapping each other in or near the space. |
