<p>The embodiments of the present invention provide a method for allocating the occupied time of a channel. The method includes the following steps: all terminals are notified that the channel will be occupied during a period of T; the terminals, corresponding to the ranks of the highest rate rank and above, are notified that the channel has been idle; it is judged whether the release time T1 corresponding to the highest rate rank has been elapsed since the terminals were notified last time that the channel has been idle; if so, the terminals, corresponding to the ranks of the second highest rate rank and above, are notified that the channel has been idle; it is judged whether the release time T2 corresponding to the second highest rate rank has been elapsed since the terminals were notified last time that the channel has been idle; the rest may be deduced by analogy until it is determined that the release time Tn corresponding to the lowest rate rank has been elapsed since the terminals corresponding to the lowest rate rank were notified that the channel has been idle, and T=T1+T2+......+Tn. The embodiments of the present invention also provide a corresponding access point device.
