PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an object detector which can suppress incorrect detection of an object.SOLUTION: The object detector 10 divides a detection area in a prescribed angle range viewed from an own vehicle into a plurality of vertical angle regions and horizontal angle regions. The object detector 10 includes a segment forming part 32 which classifies a plurality of reflection points detected corresponding to an electromagnetic wave emitted toward each of the horizontal angle regions into a plurality of segments, based on the positions of the reflection points, for each of the vertical angle regions, a target object forming part 33 which forms target objects consisting of the segments present in a prescribed position range, and having peculiar targets, and an object detecting part 37. The object detecting part 37 detects the object, based on the target object constituted only of the segment in a single vertical angle region, out of the target objects formed by the target object forming part 33. |
