PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection type display apparatus that is not limited in installation place even if it is placed vertically.SOLUTION: The projection type video display apparatus includes a lamp source 11, optical systems 13, 14, 15, and 16, a video display device 16, and a projection lens 17. The lamp light source 11 is a rotation type lamp light source disposed in the arrangement in which the luminous flux of the lamp light source 11 is directly introduced into the optical systems 13, 14, 15, and 16, and in the arrangement in which luminous flux of the lamp light source 11 is rotated 90° so as to be parallel to the optical axis of the projection lens 17 and the luminous flux is indirectly introduced into the optical systems 13, 14, 15, and 16 by light reflected by a mirror 31. |
