PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an observation device which can perform terahertz wave observation and visible light observation to same observation position on a sample simultaneously or in a short time.SOLUTION: The observation device 1 includes: electro-optical crystals 6; a terahertz wave irradiation optical system 4 for irradiating a terahertz wave Ltoward a sample A, and providing an image of the terahertz wave Lwhich permeated the sample A on the electro-optical crystals 6; a near-infrared light irradiation optical system 5 for irradiating a near-infrared light Ltoward the electro-optical crystals 6; a near-infrared light detection system 7 for detecting the near-infrared light Lwhich changed in state by permeating the electro-optical crystals 6; and a fluorescence detection optical system 9 for detecting fluorescence generated at the sample A by irradiation with an excitation light L. The terahertz wave Lirradiation region and the near-infrared light Lirradiation region at least partially overlap in the electro-optical crystals 6. The fluorescence detection optical system 9 is constituted to detect fluorescence emitted from a region at least partially overlapped with the region of the sample A irradiated with the terahertz wave L. |
