PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element which has a superior light extraction efficiency and of which chromatic variation can be improved corresponding to a position of an observer against the organic electroluminescent element, and to provide an organic electroluminescent display using this organic electroluminescent element.SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescent element, which has a first electrode, a light-emitting layer, a semi-transmissive second electrode, an intermediate layer, a semi-transmissive layer, and a light-transmitting layer in this order, has a first resonator structure in which light emitted from the light-emitting layer is emitted by being resonated between the first electrode and the second electrode, and a second resonator structure in which the light is emitted by being resonated between the first electrode and the semi-transmissive layer. A thickness of the light-transmitting layer is 0.9×t/n or more and 1.1×t/n or less, when a length corresponding to one quarter of a peak wave length of the light emitted from the light-emitting layer is denoted by t and a refractive index of the light-transmitting layer is denoted by n. |
