A secondary battery (10) is configured as an assembled body of a plurality of battery modules (15). An ECU (100) calculates the degradation indexes quantitatively indicating the degradation degrees of the respective plurality of battery modules and detects a battery module, the degradation index of which has reached a predetermined replacement level, as a module-to-be-replaced. The ECU (100) further selects an additional module to be replaced at the same time as the above module-to-be-replaced from battery modules among the plurality of battery modules (15), the degradation indexes of which have not reached the replacement level.
