Producing fibrous matted polymer wool comprises atomizing polymers, preferably hydrocarbons, with a pressure of 1-100 bars. The used cooling- or propellant gas has a pressure of 1-100 bars. An independent claim is also included for the fibrous matted polymer wool prepared by the above method.
