PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for correcting an end face of a spindle shaft capable of transmitting stable ultrasonic vibration from the spindle shaft to a cutting blade.SOLUTION: In this method for correcting an end face 34 of the spindle shaft 26 of a cutting unit 4, the cutting blade 27 is fixed to the end face 34 of the spindle shaft 26 by a fixing bolt 41 via an adhering member 28, the ultrasonic vibration of an ultrasonic vibrator 43 provided in the spindle shaft 26 is transmitted to the cutting blade 27, and a workpiece W is cut. The used cutting blade 27 and the adhering member 28 are removed from the spindle shaft 26, an unused cutting blade 27 and a polishing sheet 65 are mounted, a polishing surface 67 of the polishing sheet 65 is made to abut on the end face 34 of the spindle shaft 26 by fastening the fixing bolt 41, the unused cutting blade 27 is vibrated in a radial direction by ultrasonic vibration, and the end face 34 of the spindle shaft 26 is polished by the polishing surface 67. |
