PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To excellently execute scene search from a moving image by using thumbnail images.SOLUTION: Frames having features are extracted from a moving image. Furthermore, thumbnail frames are determined on the basis of importance from the feature frames. All the thumbnail frames are divided into pages each comprising a set of a plurality of thumbnail frames continuous in time series. Each thumbnail image including a thumbnail frame nearest to the time of the moving image at reproduction in units of pages is arranged and displayed in a matrix shape. The thumbnail image nearest to the time of the moving image is displayed in a pop-up manner during the normal reproduction of the moving image. A row including the thumbnail image nearest to the time of the moving image is displayed in a pop-up manner during high-speed reproduction. By this, a user can view the thumbnail images synchronous with the moving image at a glance. The user can search a target scene while referring to both the moving image and the thumbnail images.
