PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet handling apparatus capable of securing operational reliability by collecting the cut end portion of a paper sheet when the paper sheet runs out and to provide a sheet collecting method for the sheet handling apparatus.SOLUTION: The sheet handling apparatus includes: a feeding section 11 which is configured to feed rolled paper; a conveying path R which is configured to convey the paper fed from the feeding section; a detecting section 12 which is configured to detect whether the rolled paper runs out; and a control section which is configured to collect the paper remaining on the conveying path when the detecting section detects that the rolled paper runs out.
