The container (1) has an intake port (3) comprising an intake terminal (4), and an exhaust opening (5) comprising an outlet port (6), where the container receives a rotatably movable detour ring (7) for a strand-like product e.g. electric cable, in interior. A lid-like upper part and a lower part (2) are detachably and sealably connected with each other by a fixing unit along a division plane. A sensor (12) is assigned to the detour ring for detection of tensile strain influencing deflection of a strand-like product at the detour ring. An independent claim is also included for a device for the continuous production of casings for a strand-like product.
