The method involves storing a milled profile in a controller and adjusting a milling roller (12) by the controller according to the stored milled profile. The stored profile or another profile such as digging profile and/or overdriving profile, is selected by an operator according to a requirement. The latter profile is inputted to the controller. Milling depth or distance to a reference surface area (16) on each side of the roller is inputted to the controller for forming the milled profile or the latter profile with respect to a rotational axis (11) of the milling roller.
