Cable splice enclosure

The invention refers to a cable splice enclosure 1 with two housing parts 2, 3 that define at least one cable-entry aperture 4 into the enclosure when they are closed and a cable seal 8 with a cable-receiving aperture 19 therein that is seated against a face 7 provided around the cable-entry aperture by the housing parts. The seal is split along a line 22 that extends from the external surface of the seal to the cable-receiving aperture to permit a cable to be inserted into the cable-receiving aperture. The split comprises
(i) a first portion 23 that extends from the external surface of the seal to a point 25 inside the inner circumference of the seal, the first portion being substantially perpendicular to the closing direction A of the housing parts; and
(ii) (ii) a second portion 24 that is inclined to the first portion and extends there from towards the cable-receiving aperture.
