The insulator has a head part (30) and a foot part (20) electrically insulated from each other. The head part and foot part are provided with a connecting piece (21), where the head part and the foot part are connected to each other by a hollow supporting part (40). The distance between the head part and the foot part is covered by an insulation sheet (10) that is made of cast resin. The supporting part is made of a fiberglass reinforced plastic as a tubular section. The head part is provided with an attachment piece at the outer circumference of the supporting part.
