A thermo-electric structure (100) for cooling, heating, or stabilizing the temperature of an object or for electric power generation, said structure comprised of:
a. a first sandwich layer (16N) located at a heat absorbing side of said thermo-electric structure said first sandwich layer comprised of a plurality of n-type and p-type legs sandwiched between a first support layer (28) located at the heat absorbing side of said first sandwich layer and a second support layer (18) located at a heat absorbing side of first sandwich layer; and
b. at least two additional sandwich layers (16P) located at a heat dispersing side of said thermo-electric structure each of said additional sandwich layers comprised of a plurality of n-type and p-type legs sandwiched between a support layer (28) located at the heat absorbing side of said additional sandwich layer and a support layer (18) located at a heat dispersing side of said additional sandwich layer;
said thermo-electric structure characterized in that heat is transferred from said first sandwich layer to each of said at least two additional sandwich layers by means of one or more heat transfer devices, wherein each of said heat transfer devices is thermally connected at a first end to said second support layer and at a second end to said support layer at said heat absorbing side of said additional sandwich layers.
