Class 65 (ii) A sash 1 is mounted in a frame 2 by two pivotal connections each of which comprises two coaxial circular or partly circular discs 4 and 7 of equal diameter disposed in face to face engagement with each other and secured to the sash and frame respectively and clamping means arranged on one of the latter to surround the discs and engage them frictionally, the clamping means comprising two members each having an arcuate clamping surface, and means for adjusting the spacing between the clamping surfaces. As shown, the disc member 7 is flat sided, and the clamping members 10, which are secured to the frame by screws 12, are adapted to be drawn together by screws 11 extending between adjacent lug portions 10a of the clamping members. In a modification the discs are dish shaped and their rims are disposed towards each other, while the lugs 10a are staggered with respect to the pivotal axis. |
