The cutting plate (1) is arranged in a specified direction of a rotating work cylinder, and has two groups of cutting edges (S). One group of cutting edges face the in the rotational direction, where another group of cutting edges face in the opposite direction in relation to a symmetry axis (SA). The cutting edges extend outwardly over a surface of the work cylinder. An independent claim is also included for a work cylinder for a compostable material crushing device.
