671,196. Supporting bearings. SPINDEL-, MOTORENUND MASCHINEN - FABRIK AKT.-GES. July 13, 1950 [July 14, 1949], No. 17594/50. Class 12 (i). A journal bearing for spinning and twisting spindles, has sleeves which are disposed between the journal casing and journal bushing so as to dampen the oscillations which occur during operation of the spindle. A spindle 3 in a journal bushing 2 is suspended within the journal casing 1; between the bushing 2 and the casing 1 are disposed three cylindrical sleeves 7, 8, 9 having curved bottom portions 71, 81, 91. The convexities of the portions 7<SP>1</SP>, 8<SP>1</SP>, 9<SP>1</SP> progressively decrease from the innermost to the outermost sleeve, while at the same time the diameters of the sleeves 7, 8, 9 are in such proportion that the play between each pair of sleeves increases from inner pair to outer pair. Holes and passages 5, 6, 7<SP>11</SP>, 8<SP>11</SP>, 9<SP>11</SP> interconnect the various parts, and the casing 1 contains oil which serves to dampen the oscillations of the spindle 3. In operation, the oil is in continuous circulation and is thereby always being cooled. In a modification, the sleeves 7, 8, 9 have cone-shape bottom portions. A form of the device is also described in which the sleeves 7, 8, 9 are simple cylinders without curved bottom portions. |
