The hybrid assembly 16 has a detachable module 50 including an energy storage device 62 and a module drive device 67 connected to the energy storage device 62. The module drive device 67 is configured to convert between electrical energy and mechanical energy. The hybrid assembly 16 also has an energy recovery device 48 electrically connected to the energy storage device 62. The hybrid assembly additionally has a mechanical connector 52 selectively connecting the module drive device 67 to a vehicle powertrain 12, wherein the module drive device 67 drives the powertrain 12 via the mechanical connector 52. |
