A clutch assembly having a driving plate 102 arranged in communication with a thermal transfer medium for use in cooling the driving plate 102. The thermal transfer medium may be: at least one resilient biased conductive brush (358, fig 3a); a cooling fluid in a conduit 104, 106, 108 in the driving plate 102; one or more conductive elements (250, fig 2) mounted on or in contact with the driving plate 102; or a conductive powder and/or fluid held in a sealed manner, preferably in a cartridge (400, fig 4) between the driving plate and a separate part of the clutch assembly. The cooling relates preferably to a dry clutch and preferably a dual clutch transmission DCT. |
