PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recognition device and the like capable of heightening a recognition rate by suppressing wrong recognition, while reducing an operation processing load, by setting variably an object feature used as an object for image recognition processing, when performing image recognition using image information of the periphery of own position as an object. SOLUTION: This image recognition device is equipped with an image information acquisition means 4 for acquiring image information G of the periphery of own position; an own position information acquisition means 13 for acquiring own position information L; a confidence degree determination means 9 for determining an estimation error which is an estimated value of an error of the own position information L, and determining the degree of confidence E of the own position information L corresponding to the estimation error; a feature information storage means 22 for storing feature information F; an object feature setting means 15 for setting one or two or more object features used as objects for the image recognition processing from among features whose feature information F is stored in the feature information storage means 22, according to the degree of confidence E; and an image recognition means 5 for performing the image recognition processing of the object features to the image information G by using the feature information F of the object features.
