<p>A method comprises determining via control apparatus (11, fig 7) an impending lane change of a second vehicle 2 from a second lane 4 to a first lane 3. The control apparatus (11) receives inputs from sensors (5, 7, 10) such as optical or ultrasound or radar sensors which the control apparatus (11) uses to determined a first distance d1 of the second vehicle 2 from the first vehicle 1 and a first position of the second vehicle 2. The determined first distance (d1, fig 1) of the second vehicle 2 from the first vehicle 1 is then compared with a direction dependent first predetermined threshold value (dO,1) and the determined first distance (d1) of the second vehicle 2 from the first vehicle 1 is compared with the first predetermined threshold value (dO,1) in the direction of the determined first position of the second vehicle 2. If the first distance (d1) is less than threshold value (dO,1) a warning message, e.g. a signal from a horn or headlamps is outputted to the second vehicle 2.</p> |
